Hi All

Welcome to all our new Celtic members.  I hope that this is the beginning of a very prosperous running relationship.

Please feel free to join us on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6pm at the club for training runs with pace groups catering from 5 minutes per kilometre to walkers.  Also, join us for a 5km or 2.5km Time Trial on Wednesday evenings at the Rondebosch Common at 6pm.

Also, a special welcome back to our previous members who have renewed their memberships.

We've come to the end of a very busy and challenging month of races.  To all who competed and conquered, well done.  I hope that good foundations were laid and that you've come through this month unscathed.

For those running Two Oceans Ultra, February is normally the month for high mileage.  Run well and Run safe.

On the safety issue, we as runners have become the targets of thieves.  To ensure your safety please take care when you are out running.  
- Run in areas that are well lit and secure
- When running alone, try not to run with expensive equipment, eg. GPS watches, cellphones, ipods, etc.
- Running with headphones, although making your run fun, distracts you
- Try to run in groups, e.g. Tuesday and Thursday Club runs

On the 21st of February, Celtic will be hosting the Peninsula Marathon.  If you are not participating in any of the 2 events, please volunteer to be a marshal or to man a water point.  Please contact the club office if you want to avail yourself.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

In closing, as a club we support the #runclean initiative.  Please discard your water sachets at the water points or in the dirt bins provided along the route.  We thank you for your consideration in this matter and for your support of this initiative.
